Springfield Village Public Art open call, Tooting Bec, London

The Springfield Village Public Art Open Call invites UK-based artists and creative practitioners to propose permanent public artworks for Springfield Village, a new mixed-use neighbourhood in Tooting Bec, London. The commission seeks site-specific work that is meaningful, sensitive to budget, and rooted in the character of Tooting Bec—ultimately helping to build a lasting cultural legacy for the area.

Organised by AND London and Barratt London, the call asks applicants to respond to the history and future of the Springfield Village site. Proposals may also explore themes of mental wellbeing and the destigmatisation of mental health, while enhancing the public realm through accessible, positive, and therapeutic experiences.

There is potential to reuse and recycle materials following demolition. The appointed artist or creative practitioner(s) will be expected to deliver an engagement process—during design and/or fabrication—with local stakeholders, ensuring the resulting artworks reflect local identity and embody collaborative values.
