Premios Arquitectura 2026

The Higher Council of Architects’ Associations of Spain has officially launched the fifth edition of the ARCHITECTURE Awards, reaffirming its commitment to bringing architecture closer to society while recognizing professional excellence across the built environment. Organized by CSCAE with the official sponsorship of COMPAC®, the awards continue to position architecture, urbanism and design as essential drivers of well being, sustainability and cultural identity.

The ARCHITECTURE Awards 2026 are open to works realized both in Spain and internationally, provided they are authored by Spanish architects or teams led by architects registered in Spain. The initiative reflects a broad and inclusive understanding of architectural practice, embracing built projects, urban strategies and emerging forms of professional contribution.

ARCHITECTURE BEYOND BUILDINGS

At its core, the ARCHITECTURE Awards seek to highlight how architecture shapes daily life, public health and environmental responsibility. The awards recognize projects that go beyond aesthetics, addressing social commitment, ethical practice and long term impact on cities and landscapes.

This edition introduces nine distinctions, structured around shared cultural values and professional excellence. Six recognitions focus on values such as sustainability, health, commitment, ethical practice, habitat quality and rehabilitation, while three special awards honor outstanding achievements in architecture, urbanism and long lasting relevance.

The Premio Arquitectura Española and Premio Urbanismo Español celebrate exemplary architectural and urban interventions, acknowledging not only designers but also clients, institutions and public bodies whose support has been essential in delivering quality environments that benefit society. The Permanence Award is dedicated to works that have stood the test of time, recognizing architecture and urban planning that continue to contribute meaningfully to cultural memory and spatial identity decades after completion.

SCOPE AND ELIGIBILITY

The call welcomes a wide spectrum of submissions, ranging from architecture and urban planning to landscape, public space, interior design, scenography, product design and ephemeral structures. It also embraces innovation in professional practice, including digital platforms, editorial initiatives, curatorial projects, start ups and new models of architectural dissemination.

Eligible works must have been completed between January 1 and December 31, 2025, with the exception of submissions to the Permanence Award, which recognizes architectural works completed in 2005 and urban planning projects approved between 1996 and 2005. There is no limit to the number of proposals submitted by an individual or team.

TIMELINE AND AWARDS CEREMONY

The deadline for submissions is February 10, 2026 at 23:59. Following an initial selection phase conducted by regional professional bodies, selected works will be announced in March, with finalists revealed in May. The winners will be announced in the first half of June during an official awards ceremony.

Award recipients will receive the TOITS sculpture, crafted from COMPAC® Obsidian, a material certified Cradle to Cradle Silver, reinforcing the awards’ commitment to environmental responsibility and material innovation.

A PLATFORM FOR ARCHITECTURAL EXCELLENCE

Now in its fifth edition, the ARCHITECTURE Awards have established themselves as one of Spain’s most influential platforms for recognizing architecture as a public good. By celebrating built works, professional ethics and cultural values, the awards continue to strengthen the role of architecture as a tool for social progress, environmental stewardship and collective well being.
